I have always known it is good to help people, but I never knew helping other people means you are helping yourself.
I got to know while in a conversation with dad today. He used Mordecai and Esther as an example.
Mordecai took Esther as his daughter, nurtured her, helped her till her mission was accomplished in the palace.
It didn’t stop there, he saved the king from being killed, including the jews through Esther’s help. This act of love and kindness was recorded in the books of record of chronicles, which landed him a great status in the palace.
Moreover, Esther made it easy by obeying every instruction he gave her through her character.
When you help people you are not only helping them, you are helping yourself also, you might not see the effect now. Future will tell
Helping other people breaks barrier for you, it reserves a special place for you in future. It unlock doors no one ever thought will open.
It saves you from embarrassment, it makes you stand among dignitaries. You dine with kings.
I know of an uncle who taught his cousin some subject while preparing for WAEC, few years later he had the opportunity to travel abroad.
While in an interview he was asked, if he had any teaching experience, He said no. Immediately he remembered he taught his cousin, they were like that is what they are looking for and the rest was history.
The funniest part is, he was scolded for not helping his cousin which later led to teaching him.
Just imagine if he didn’t obey at all, he would have lost that golden opportunity.
It could be that you were involved in a family project, that might be the question they will ask you in an interview.
You won’t only get the job, but you will be given a higher position
It could be a family business that you were involved in, helping a friend, assisting a young child, assisting in church or hospital.
It might not be convenient at some point, but its worth it.
This sacrifices goes a long away.
Sometimes our breakthrough lies in our experiences and sacrifices.
Even the Holy Book says that it is more “Blessed to give, than to receive.”
Don’t stop helping people because, you are helping and preparing yourself for greater opportunities.
No matter how little it is, it speaks volume and goes a long way.
I hope you got value.
