First date is the initial meeting between two individuals who are into a romantic relationship or about to get into one.
The aim of a first date is for both parties to get to know each other more and talk about what they want in the relationship. It is also an avenue for them to evaluate each other and know if they are compatible or not.
Today I’ll be giving you tips on how to successfully have a first date which will lead to a second date and more
1. Dress well
It is often said that first impression matters so when going for a first date, do ensure you dress well and smell good. Do not ‘over-dress’. Put on something you feel comfortable in and not just something you want to use to impress your partner.
For men, do not dress up in a full suit, office shirt and tie as this might give an impression that you’re coming from work. The goal of a first date is to express yourself so put on something you’re comfortable with. Do not ‘under-dress’ also. If it is a fancy restaurant date, a slim fitted shirt and a tailored trouser will do fine.
For ladies, wear something that makes you feel like yourself. Do not use excessive make up or ‘dress to kill’. For a restaurant date, a gown will be fine but make sure it’s not too flashy nor too dull.
2. Be yourself
While on a first date, do not pretend to be who/what you’re not. Feel free to express yourself as it helps the other party feel more relaxed and comfortable with you. Try to be as real as you can
3. Be interactive and ask even the littlest questions
While on a first date, do not just wait for the other party to be the one to keep the conversation on. Be lively and add to the conversation. Make jokes occasionally and ask even the littlest questions like “How was your weekend?”
4. As a lady, feel free to ask if you can help with the bills after
After the date is over, you can ask to help with the bills. Do not assume that it is the man’s duty to settle it. When you ask to help with the bills, this gives the man this kind of positive impression on your personality.
5. Take money that can cover your expenses along
As funny as this might sound, remember to take money along on your first date in case things didn’t go as planned or a situation comes up. To avoid ‘cases that touch’, be sure to have money that can cover for your transportation and food with you. If you finish eating and can’t pay for it, omo you go wash plate tire😂
