Is your mind unsettled?
Are you bothered about a lot of things?
Do you feel insecure?
I was once like you, bothered about too many things. I wanted it all perfect. Got myself involved in as many things as possible. Trying to keep up with everything, I got chocked up.
The thought of everything I had to do was more stressful than the real task itself. Thinking about my tight schedule, I would get exhausted, even before starting.
I kept reminding myself of everything, I kept making plans and writing ‘to do lists’, but they were not helping. The sight of my to do list alone was enough to drain my whole energy for the day.
I would go to bed with my unsettled mind, seeking ease through my sleep. Sleeping was the best way to ease myself of worries. Unfortunately, the relief was always temporary, the first thing I would remember on waking up was my worries, my tight schedule, my to do list and the cycle would continue.
But in the actual sense, not all these things were important. I was busy paying attention to unnecessary things. When I could have just saved myself of undue stress, by shedding off excesses.
I needed help.
I opened to my mentor. After explaining everything to him, he asked me a question; “with your tight schedule and worries, what have you achieved so far?” That was a thought provoking question!
I had to go back home to evaluate myself. I discovered that I had been unproductive during my days of worry. The overwhelming situations had left me, with no positive result. I had no choice, but to shed off excesses.
Dear reader, please shed off your excesses before they tear you apart!
